Le pianta madre è stata ritrovata nel comune di Città di Castello (PG), ma la varietà era diffusa un tempo anche tra Toscana e Marche . L'albero è di vigoria media, con chioma aperta. Molto rustico, viene riprodotto tradizionalmente da pollone. Le foglie sono per lo più quadrilobate. Produce due fioriture. I fioroni, non abbondanti, maturano inizio luglio, e sono assai simili ai forniti che maturano a metà settembre. I frutti hanno forma piriforme a volte globosa, l’ostiolo è aperto, la buccia è molto fine e verde chiaro con sfumature rosso lieve. La polpa è rosa chiaro molto dolce e delicata, con acheni molto piccoli. I fioroni maturano all’inizio di luglio, i forniti a metà settembre.
Il curioso nome si deve al fatto che la buccia è molto fine e il frutto è molto delicato alla manipolazione. Quindi non vuole essere troppo toccato. Inoltre si arrossa lievemente al lato. Per questo è molto adatto al consumo fresco anche perché ha un gusto straordinariamente dolce.

The curious name ‘Touchy’is due to the fact that the peel is very fine and the fruit is very delicate to handle. So he doesn't want to be too touched. It also blushes slightly on the side. This is why it is very suitable for fresh consumption also because it has an extraordinarily sweet taste.
